CSA Farm Tour

In the past, Harvest Valley Farms has organized a pot-luck CSA picnic for all of our CSA members. After discussing the event this year (2006), we agreed that it would be better if it was more educational. We thought "wouldn't it be nice for them to actually see where their food comes from".

So...this year we will be carring out a new event, CSA Farm Tour, that replaces the picnic. The CSA Farm Tour will consist of a tour of each of the three farms that we farm. One at the home farm, one at Siarizan Farm, and one at Hawkins Farm. Each member will get to go on one of the three tours. The tour will consist of a hayride around the farm with deep discussion about how we grow our produce and the methods we use. Each tour will harvest some sellected crops from the field and bring them back to the home farm. We will then make a few dishes for eveyone to snack on and discuss what everyone thought of the tours and answer questions.
